    Description

Multi-Panel Hip Canopy That Parks Departments and School Districts Trust

Multi-Panel Hip Canopy installed at Mountains Edge Regional Park

Your visitors notice when shade has presence. The Hip Multi-Panel uses four separate fabric panels arranged across a hip roofline, giving the structure a sloped, multi-sided profile that stands out from a typical flat canopy while still delivering full shade coverage across the footprint.

Instead of a single flat span that can look plain in high-visibility areas, your property gets a structure with depth and dimension. Each of the four panels can be a different color, so you can coordinate the canopy with school colors, branding, or a park theme for a cohesive, visually distinct look.

Supply-A-City is an authorized USA Shade and Fabric Structures distributor. All products are manufactured in the USA and backed by a 10-year structural warranty on steel and a 10-year limited fabric warranty.

Multi-Panel Hip Shade Structure with joined configuration at Mountains Edge Regional Park

What Sets a Multi-Panel Hip Shade Structure Apart

The Hip Multi-Panel's four-panel design follows a hip roofline, with each panel sloping toward a central peak from a different side. This gives the structure a more architectural look than a single-panel canopy and allows for color coordination across each panel independently. Joined and double-wide configurations are also available, making this a practical option for properties that need to cover larger or irregularly shaped areas with a continuous shade structure.

If a simpler peaked form fits your project better, the 4-Post Pyramid Shade [CROSS-LINK] and Mariner Multi Panel Pyramid [CROSS-LINK] are worth comparing.

Built for Commercial Wind and Snow Loads

The Hip Multi-Panel is engineered for commercial-grade conditions. The structure is rated for 90 mph three-second wind gusts and 5 PSF snow loads, with the steel frame rated even higher when fabric panels are removed. For properties in high-wind or heavy-snow regions, the optional Quick Release system allows fabric removal without tools when severe weather is anticipated.

All steel tubing is coated inside and out to prevent rust and corrosion. Joints are reinforced with sleeves that lock tightly, welds are professionally finished and sealed, and all hardware is rated for long-term outdoor performance. The standard finish is a UV-resistant TGIC powder coat. For properties near the ocean, a Zinc Rich coastal primer upgrade is available for added protection against saltwater exposure.

    • Wind load: 90 mph three-second wind gusts
    • Snow load: 5 PSF (steel frame rated higher with fabric removed)
    • Quick Release: Optional fast-removal system for severe weather preparation
    • Coastal primer: Zinc Rich primer upgrade for saltwater environments
    • Warranty: 10-year structural on steel; 10-year limited on fabric. See full warranty page for details.

Shadesure Fabric and Color Options for Any Property

Fabric panels are constructed from Shadesure™ high-density polyethylene shade cloth, which provides approximately 80% shade and up to 90% UV protection depending on color. The fabric also offers a measure of hail protection. Shadesure is available in 20 colors, giving you plenty of options to coordinate each of the four panels independently. See the color swatch for exact shade factor numbers by color selection.

For California school projects, Colourshade® FR fabric meets Division of the State Architect (DSA) approval requirements and is available in 7 colors.

Post and frame powder-coat colors include Black, Cobalt, Blue, Forest Green, Red, Yellow, Dark Brown, Light Ivory, White, and Tele-Gray. Steel finish options are TGIC powder coat, Zinc Rich Coastal primer with powder coat, hot dip galvanizing, and galvanizing with powder coat or wet paint. These options allow the structure to coordinate with existing site branding, facility color standards, or architectural specifications.

Have questions about panel color combinations, joined configurations, or which size fits your site? Our team can help you work through the details.

    Warranty

    USA Shade Warranty Coverage

USA Shade stands behind the quality of their structures with some of the strongest warranty coverage in the industry. Below is a plain-English breakdown of what is covered, for how long, and how to use it if you ever need to.

What Is Covered and for How Long

    • Steel structure — 10 years. The structural integrity of all supplied steel is fully warranted for ten years from the date of sale.
    • Fabric (Shadesure™, Colourshade® FR, Extreme 32™, Commercial 95™) — 10 years. Fabric is warranted against significant fading, deterioration, breakdown, and weather damage including outdoor heat, cold, and discoloration. If a warranty claim is approved, USA Shade will repair or ship a replacement fabric at no charge for the first six years. From year seven onward, coverage is pro-rated at 20% per year for the remaining four years.
    • Sewing thread — 10 years.
    • Steel surface finishes — 1 year.
    • Assembly labor — 1 year, if assembly was performed by USA Shade.

    Fabric Warranty Exceptions

Certain fabric types and colors carry different warranty terms:

    • Shadesure™ in Red, Yellow, Atomic Orange, Electric Purple, Zesty Lime, Cinnamon, Olive, and Mulberry — 5-year pro-rated warranty.
    • Individual fabric tops over 40 feet in length — 5-year non-prorated warranty.
    • Precontraint 502™ waterproof material — 8-year pro-rated warranty.
    • Fabrics on Coolbrella structures — 3-year warranty.

How to File a Warranty Claim

If you believe you have a warranty issue, here is what to do:

    1. Submit your claim in writing within 30 days of discovering the problem.
    2. Include a detailed description of the issue along with photos.
    3. Send everything to warranty@usa-shade.com.

USA Shade will repair or replace defective products, or refund the portion of the purchase price related to the defect, at their discretion.

    What Is Not Covered

    The warranty does not cover:

    • Normal wear and tear
    • Misuse, vandalism, or contact with chemicals
    • Damage from events outside normal weather conditions, including tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and wildfires
    • Ice, snow, or wind loads that exceed the engineered design parameters of your specific structure
    • Damage resulting from maintenance or repairs not consistent with USA Shade's care instructions
    • Unauthorized modifications — no signs, lights, fans, or objects may be hung from the structure without prior written approval from USA Shade
    • Assembly not performed by USA Shade or their authorized agents
    • Fabric curtains, valances, and flat vertical panels
    • Fabric installed on structures not originally engineered and supplied by USA Shade

The warranty is also void if the structure is not paid for in full or is not assembled in strict compliance with USA Shade specifications.

    Warranty Transfers

If you sell your property, the warranty does not automatically transfer to the new owner. A transfer requires a complete on-site inspection by a USA Shade representative. Contact warranty@usa-shade.com to arrange this.

    Liability Limit

USA Shade's liability under this warranty is limited to the original purchase price of the product. They are not responsible for lost revenue, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential damages related to a warranty claim.
