Wabash Valley Stainless Steel Designer Bike Rack
Every coated rack is one chip away from rusting. A lock scrapes the finish, weather gets under it, and the steel does the rest.
Instead of a colour layer protecting the metal, this panel is stainless all the way through. There is no coating on it to fail in the first place.
Specifiers choose stainless where a repaint is not going to happen. Supply-A-City is your authorized Wabash Valley distributor. Free shipping included.
30" Wide | 30" Tall | Stainless Steel | Laser-Cut Bicycle Graphic | 2 Bikes, One Per Face | Surface or Inground | 19 lbs
Powder coat and plastisol both work the same way. A tough layer sits on ordinary steel and keeps water off it.
That holds until something cuts through. A U-lock dragged across the same spot every morning is usually what does it.
Once the layer opens, corrosion runs underneath it and lifts more of the coating from below. The repair is a repaint, which outdoors rarely happens.
A stainless steel bicycle rack has nothing layered on it. Its corrosion resistance is the metal itself, so a scratch is a scratch and not a starting point.
That is the whole argument for paying more than a coated rack costs, and it is the only argument that matters in year ten.
The panel is the same shape as the powder-coated Designer, cut with the same bicycle graphic through the lower section.
What changes is the surface. Brushed stainless reads as a material rather than a colour, so it sits against glass, concrete and anodised aluminium without competing.
Hotel forecourts, civic buildings and offices tend to specify it for that reason, not for the corrosion numbers.
It also removes a decision. There is no colour to match now and no colour to rematch when the rest of the site furniture gets replaced.
The panel measures 30 inches square and sits only 4 inches deep at the base, so it takes a line of ground rather than a footprint.
Surface mount bolts flat to finished concrete through a base plate that runs the full width of the panel.
Inground sets the legs 11 3/4 inches into footings instead, so nothing shows at grade and there is no exposed hardware to put a wrench on.
A bike parks against each face, so one panel takes two without either rider reaching across the other.
At 19 lbs it is light enough to hold to a line by hand while it is fixed, which matters when a row has to sit straight.
Both mounts are built to order and run roughly fourteen to twenty-four business days.
There is no colour choice to make, which is part of why it ships as a single configuration.
Freight is included on this one. A skidded rack out of Monett picks up liftgate and limited access charges elsewhere that never reach your invoice.
As an authorized Wabash Valley distributor, Supply-A-City ships genuine racks and handles the warranty claim if one is ever needed.
Racks arrive unassembled and require assembly.
